360° Tour

First, we want to thank the over 250,000 visitors who have already come from around the globe to visit us. YOU are what makes The Reptile Zoo special. We are so honored to have the opportunity to meet you and share our love for reptiles.

Starting today we will be TEMPORARILY CLOSED FOR CONSTRUCTION. Although we wouldn't have chosen things to work out this way, we are going to embrace the opportunity to take a step back and create an even better environment for guests and animals.

We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause and will be working around the clock to resume services. Although we do not know the day yet, we are so excited for when it arrives and we can invite you back to a bigger and better place for the community to come to re-connect with nature and each other.

We appreciate all of your prayers and support during this time and will continue to share ways on Facebook and Instagram @TheReptileZooFV to get involved.

When owner, Jay Brewer, opened Prehistoric Pets, as Pet Country, in 1988 he focused on providing quality pets and service to every customer and although our inventory of exotic reptiles has expanded and the animals themselves have grown and grown and grown, so much so we have had to relocate twice, first to a 5000 sq ft location in 1992, and most recently to a 10,000 sq ft location in 2000, his focus hasn’t changed since the beginning.

Prehistoric Pets’ was the first of its kind designed by Jay to create a zoo-like atmosphere with the philosophy “build it and they will come.” This philosophy proved correct and new customers started visiting the store to observe exotic reptiles, which are not displayed at even the largest of zoos and this collection of specialized and rare reptiles. As customer needs transformed The Reptile Zoo was created.

The Reptile Zoo provides the community with a unique educational entertainment facility which houses over 100 exotic species of reptiles, amphibians, and arachnids from around the world. These animals each have their own story, some are rescues, many were born at The Reptile Zoo, and others are part of private collections. Here guests can learn about these rare animals first hand with interactive displays and presentations. If they’re brave they can even hold one!
